Dear Readers,
I started One Small Rose on February 16, 2018.
Since the one year anniversary just passed, I decided to reflect on the journey.
Today, January 24th is the feast day of St. Francis de Sales.
In my first post — First Post, First Blog! — I mentioned this saint. Those who have been following from the beginning may remember that I prayed a Novena to him for guidance, and the fruit of that prayer was this blog.
I have to tell you, I’m excited about this blog! I’m truly grateful for all of the support and encouragement I’ve received from family and friends.
This may not seem like a big deal, but it is to me; so thank you!

I’m a perfectionist, so this sort of task would normally take me a long time to accomplish.
I often don’t feel comfortable with a decision or action unless I feel it’s completed “perfectly” (which I know sounds ridiculous because “perfect” does not exist).
Thanks for checking out the first post of my first blog!
Those of you who know me well, or have ever received a note or card from me, probably know that I love to write.
Last month, I prayed a novena (I also love novenas) to St. Francis de Sales since he is the patron saint of Catholic writers. I asked him for guidance on how to write to make a living as well as give glory to God…
