Two years ago, I was introduced to a saint in an unexpected way.
This modern-day saint has a rich and inspirational story.

Today, March 19th is the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, Husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary!
Since St. Joseph was the earthly spouse of Mary, the earthly father of Jesus and the head of the Holy Family, he is of great importance.
He’s also important to my family.
The saints are one of the most beautiful aspects of the Catholic Faith.
We connect to different saints for different reasons.
One saint I’m particularly drawn to is: Bernadette Soubirous.
One day, my friend and I were trying to find out who helped St. Jerome translate the scriptures into Latin…
I stumbled across this information while searching for a saint to write about, not while searching for an answer to our question!
Today, December 12th is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared under this title in Mexico on December 9 and December 12, 1531.
I’d like to share facts about this event in honor of her feast.
“Know, know for sure, my dearest, littlest, and youngest son, that I am the perfect and ever Virgin Holy Mary, Mother of the God of truth through Whom everything lives, the Lord of all things near us, the Lord of heaven and earth…” ~ Our Lady of Guadalupe
My godmother recently gave me a book called The True Saint Nicholas written by William J. Bennett
Inspired by the book, and using information from it, I dedicate this post to Saint Nicholas of Myra.
I was recently inspired to begin a new series on my blog!
Since I enjoy learning about the saints, and they’re an important part of the Catholic Faith, I decided to create a series for them.
The new series is called Saint Spotlight.
Today, September 12th is the Memorial of the Most Holy Name of Mary.
I’m taking a break from the Lourdes Series to write about something connected to this day: names.
I’ve recently become interested in this topic. So much so that I keep an ongoing list of names that I like. There are enough on the list for a small army!
I enjoy learning the meaning of names. I also enjoy hearing about how they are chosen.
First, I’ll briefly explain the feast.
Then, I’ll share an explanation of the importance of names.
Finally, I’ll provide personal tips for choosing names.
While cleaning out my room recently, I came across an essay I wrote in sixth grade!
The students of my school participated in a Diocesan wide essay contest. Each student was asked to research a saint or prominent Catholic of African ancestry and compare the person’s values with someone we knew.
Below is my article. I’ll explain why I’m sharing it with you at the end of the post.
Saints are men and women whose souls have reached heaven.
