How do you measure your worth?
While facing some personal challenges, I came across words that reminded me of an important truth — words I needed to see at that moment. (God is good!)
I’d like to share these words with you. I pray they help others the way they helped me.
The Measure of Our Worth

Our North American civilization judges people by what they produce. Salaries are raised in the business world according to our production: how many items have we sold? How many orders have we brought in? How many insurance policies did we sell? What were our grades in school?
Because of this yardstick, we often measure our own worth this way, as if we were extensions of machines instead of machines being extensions of us.
The incarnation, death, and resurrection of Christ are the true measure of our value. We are worth three hours of agony on the cross. We are worth Jesus’ whole life.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life (Jn 3:16).
