Scripture Verses for Encouragement

Scripture is the true and living Word of God.

This past year, I memorized Bible verses to help me through difficult trials and changes.

Below are 14 verses for encouragement.

The first 7 are verses I pray with frequently.

I hope you will begin, or continue, to memorize Scripture for all seasons of life.

“The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” (Job 1:21)

My beloved speaks and says to me: “Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away; for lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone.” (Song of Solomon 2:10-11)

For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)

And the angel said to them, “Be not afraid.” (Luke 2:10a)

“I will not leave you desolate; I will come to you.” (John 14:18)

And he who sat upon the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” (Revelation 21:5a)

Be strong and of good courage. (Joshua 1:6)

Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will heal you. (2 Kings 20:5)

Do not be afraid, for she was destined for you from eternity. You will save her, and she will go with you… (Tobit 6:17)

He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3) 

He has made everything beautiful in its time. (Ecclesiastes 3:11a)

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. (Matthew 5:4)

I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. (Romans 8:18)
