In the United States, January 22nd is observed as a day of prayer and penance called the: Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children.
It takes place on this date because of the Roe v. Wade case that legalized abortion in all 50 states in 1973.
Catholics are called to observe this day through penitential acts of prayer, fasting and/or almsgiving.
In observance of this significant day, I want to share a video.
Below is Episode 19 of the Living Divine Mercy Show from EWTN.
In this episode, which aired January 19th, Fr. Chris Alar discusses the pro-life teachings of the Church and shares the powerful story of how Divine Mercy helped a woman to heal from her decision to end her unwanted pregnancy.
“Before I made the world, I loved you … My love will never change.” ~ Jesus to St. Faustina
